Emmie is a generally registered psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours and a Masters of Professional Psychology at the Australian Catholic University.
Emmie has experience working with people across the lifespan, within a range of settings including universities, private practice and schools. She has also worked extensively in the out-of-home-care (OOHC) sector in both foster care and residential settings with intensive needs clients that present with complex trauma, emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties. Her experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of conditions include but are not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, mood-related disorders, anxiety disorders, poor social skills, trauma/abuse, self-esteem and other emotional and behavioural concerns.
Emmie cares deeply about establishing a genuine and trusting relationship with her clients. She takes a sensitive and non-judgemental approach to identifying, understanding, and meeting her client’s needs. She works from a strengths based, evidenced approach and enjoys utilising a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Play Based Therapy.
In her spare time you will find Emmie spending time with her dogs, at the beach, watching movies or enjoying a good coffee or meal.
