Clayton is a Clinical psychologist. Clayton grew up in the country before moving to Melbourne where he completed his Bachelor of Psychological Science degree, he later moved to Gold Coast where he completed his Master of Clinical Psychology. Clayton believes in the importance of understanding and embracing the diversity of each person’s experiences, and takes a neuro affirming, client-centred approach to therapy, ensuring a secure, supportive, and non-judgemental environment that is tailored to each individual’s needs.
Clayton has experience working with people across the lifespan and has worked within school, private practice, and outpatient hospital settings. He has a keen interest in cognitive assessment and diagnosis, with a focus on neurodiversity assessment. He uses evidence-based interventions from a range of therapeutic models including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioural therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy; with experience in autism, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, borderline personality disorder, attachment and trauma, OCD, and more.
Clayton also has specialised experience and interest in LGBTQIA+ mental health and support and currently holds registration with the Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AusPATH).
Outside of the office Clayton has a passion for video games, horror movies, and language learning. His current linguistic pursuits include attempting to learn Brazilian Portuguese.
